GREAT BEND — Lois Jayne Becker Pierson, 81, passed away May 15, 2020, at her home in Great Bend. She was born July 10, 1938, in Great Bend, to Fred and Frieda (Morris) Smith. Lois married Gene Edward Becker Nov. 21, 1957, in Great Bend. Gene passed away July 16, 1984. She then married Jerry Allen Pierson April 17, 1993, in Great Bend. Jerry passed away November 20, 2011.
Lois, a Great Bend resident, was a bookkeeper for Fuller Brush Industries, retiring in 2004, previously working as a med aide for several area nursing homes. She was an active member of King United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, former member of The Argonne Rebels Drum and Bugle Corps, and enjoyed fellowship with former classmates, friends and especially, her family.
Survivors include four sons, Gene Becker, Jr. (Nancy) of Kincaid, Steve Becker (Kim) of Elsmore, Mark Becker (Chris) of Hutchinson, and Michael Becker (Wanda) of Great Bend; five daughters, Linda Becker of Maize, Shari Nauertc (Dana) of Iola, Mary Tush of Great Bend, Kimberly Cox (Fred) of Madison, and Michelle Mitchell (Kris Schneweis) of Hoisington.; one sister Grace Bell of Great Bend; 29 grandchildren, Missy, Scott, Christy, Justin, Erin, Luke, Bo, Trent, Cole, Paige, Amber, Brian, Chad, Elise, Jana, Trevor, Ashley, Meshka, Tara, Casey, Kathy, Aleashia, Taylor, Nikki, Nathan, Zach, Brandon, Tristan and Tori; 52 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by a brother Michael Smith, sister Julia Stambaugh, grandson Ronald, and a great-grandson De’Raun.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life has been tentatively scheduled for July 10, 2020. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be given to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
