OOLOGAH, Okla. — Lorance Darel Malone of Oologah passed away on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, in Owasso at the age of 84. Lorance was born on July 4, 1937, in Cedar Vale, Kan. to Tom and Golda (Roles) Malone. He married Carol Lea Sell on Sept. 12, 1959. They moved to the Oologah area in 2014 from Mulberry, Kan. Lorance made his career as a truck driver and truck driving instructor. He was a member of Harbor Church in Oologah, and a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. Lorance’s hobbies included woodworking and crafts, outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping and mowing. Most importantly, he loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandbabies. He will be missed by many.
Lorance is survived by his wife Carol Malone; six children, Elizabeth Darletta Malone, Lorance Tom Malone, Judy Faye Hicks-Elmore, John William Malone, Shannon Arlene Malone, and Jennifer June Myers; his siblings, John Thomas Malone and Tomye Lorraine Sawyer; 17 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Lorance was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Floyd Buck Malone and Robert Lee Malone and his sister Phyllis Patterson.
The family will hold a Memorial Service at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2022, at Harbor Church in Oologah, Okla. with Pastor Brett Rogers officiating. Cremation Services were under the direction of Collinsville Dolton Funeral Home, (918) 371-2111, collinsvillefh.com.
