Louise Ellen Fenn, 95, died December 19, 2020, at Stevens County Hospital, Hugoton.  She was born August 30, 1925, in Alva, Okla. to William and Alice (Rhodes) Behrens. Louise married Elmer L. Fenn June 13, 1954, in Wichita.  He died Feb. 24, 2004.

Louise, a long time area resident and artist, grew up in Wichita, graduated from Wichita State University, then moved to Great Bend in 1952. She taught art privately and for USD 428 for a span of time that stretched from 1952 to the 1980’s.  Louise was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the Advisory Board of the Shafer Memorial Art Gallery.  She, along with her husband, have shown their art work in three Kansas art centers, Baker Art Gallery, Liberal, Deines Cultural Center, Russell and the Shafer Art Gallery, Great Bend.  Following the passing of her husband, Elmer, she moved to Mulvane, then to Hugoton to be close to her son, Matthew. 

Survivors include one son, Matthew Fenn and wife Toni of Liberal; and one brother, Jerry Behrens of Wichita.  She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bob Behrens, Lawrence Behrens and Gary Behrens.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with Rev. Jon Brudvig presiding.  Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Monday, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church or Shafer Memorial Art Gallery, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
