DeleteHOISINGTON — Louise M. Lehning, 92, died Jan. 26 at Logan Manor in Logan. Born July 28, 1920 in Sedalia, Mo. she was the daughter of Luther Roscoe and Mary Elizabeth (Phillips) Marcum. On June 30, 1948 she married Jonathan Lehning in Susank. He died on April 4, 1989. Louise worked for many years at the Town and Country grocery store in Hoisington. She also managed the Peter Pan Ice Cream Store in Hoisington, later working for Fuller Brush in Great Bend, from which she retired.
Mrs. Lehning was a member of the Concordia Lutheran Church in Hoisington. She liked to play pinochle, bingo, and especially enjoyed following her grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include three sons, Jeffery and wife Joyce Lehning of Liberty, Mo., Michael and wife Barbara Lehning of Logan, and Steven and wife Jane Lehning of Sublette; a brother Chuck Marcum of Osawatomie; a sister Gladys Voos of Hoisington; eight grandchildren: David Lehning of Blue Springs, Mo., Colleen Jackson of Holt, Mo., Nicole Lindemann of Lee’s Summit, Mo., Jeremy Lehning of Westmoreland, Blake Lehning of Olathe, Andrea Middleton of Andover, Matt Lehning of Laramie, Wyo., and Shalee Lehning of Manhattan; and 11 great-grandchildren, Steven Lehning, Kyle Lehning, Natalie Jackson, Conner Jackson, Addison Lindemann, Saylor Middleton, Max Middleton, Miley Middleton, Karlee Lehning, Brock Lehning, Paityn Lehning. She was preceded in death by husband, Jonathan Lehning; sisters, Angeline Sohm, Ruth Page, Kate Mullis; brothers, LeRoy Holman, Eugene Marcum, Herbert Marcum, John Marcum, Bob Marcum; and two great grandchildren, Rylee Jo Lindemann and Karl Michael Lindemann.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Lovett and the Rev. Garry Dassow officiating. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Logan Manor, in care of the funeral home.
