Lucibel Jay 1924 - 2018

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Lucibel Jay of Great Bend died Jan. 11, 2018.

She was born Oct. 2, 1924 in Minneapolis, Kansas, the daughter of Eunice Carter Bear and George Bear. She received a Bachelors of Arts degree from Texas Tech University in 1946. She married James Wallace Jay June 30, 1946. She was a Great Bend resident since 1961. She was a retired teacher, having taught three years in Texas and 26 years as a first grade teacher at Riley Elementary School in Great Bend.

Survivors include husband James; daughter Sharon Olson (Joseph), Indianapolis; son James Michael Jay (Kris), Santa Barbara, Calif.; granddaughters Jennifer Olson and Elizabeth Olson; grandson, Matthew Olson; six great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren; one sister; and one brother in law Don Jay (Erma).

Memorial service for Lucibel Jay will be on Thursday, February 1, 2018, at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church at 5230 Broadway, Great Bend, Kansas.
