Lynn A. Welch 1934 - 2013

LARNED — Lynn A. Welch, 79, died Aug.17, at Hays Medical Center. Born Jan. 17, 1934, in Great Bend, he was the son of J. Albert and Edna Unruh Welch. On Dec. 22, 1962, he married Judi Ellis in Larned. She survives. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired crop adjuster.
Mr. Welch served in the United States Army. He was a member of the New Jerusalem Church in Pawnee Rock, the American Legion in Larned, was a former Lions Club member and a family man.
Other survivors include, two daughters, Kim Gifford (Carl), of Melvern, and Konny Trinka of Pawnee
Rock; two sons, Kevin Welch (Michell), of Macksville and Kent Welch (Ryan), of Olathe; a sister, Vivian Bright of Pawnee Rock; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Hainline.
Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the New Jerusalem Church in Pawnee Rock, with Pastor Mark Slattery presiding. Cremation has taken place and there will be no graveside service. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Beckwith Mortuary. Thursday with family present from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be sent to the Lynn Welch Memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
