Mabel J. Flickinger 1914 - 2011

SOUTH HUTCHINSON — Mabel J. Flickinger, 96, of South Hutchinson, died April 9 at Mennonite Manor. She was born June 14, 1914, the daughter of Adam and Margaret Radenberg Disque. She was a homemaker and lifetime caregiver, raising all of her 12 brothers and sisters. She was a life member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Holyrood, and a member of the El Dorado Camping Club.

On May 7, 1961, she married William "Glenn" Flickinger in Holyrood. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Richard Flickinger and wife, Wendy, Abbyville; a daughter, Laura Rueger and husband, Larry, Cookson, Okla.; a sister, Aline Howser, Chandler, Okla.; five brothers, Walter and Charles Disque, both of Claflin, Herman Disque, Lyons, Harvey Disque, Salina, and Marlin Disque, Hoisington; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by a son, William, three sisters and three brothers.

A memorial graveside service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum. Memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home. Visit www.PenwellGabelHutchinson.com to leave the family a personal message.
