Marcella James, age 85 years, of Great Bend, Kan., passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2020 at the University of Kansas Health Systems – Great Bend Campus after a brief illness. Marcella was born on May 7, 1934 at Abilene, Kan. to Blanche and Willie Jones Sr. She graduated from Great Bend High School. Marcella was united in marriage to Leon “Leonard” James on Dec. 4, 1964 at Hays, Kan. Leonard passed away on Dec. 15, 1989. Marcella worked as a Nurse’s Aide, along with providing home care for family members who needed assistance. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Great Bend, Kan.
