OSKALOOSA — Marcia “Lee” Mitchell, 61, died Sept. 19, 2016, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. Born Nov. 3, 1954, in Kinsley, she was the daughter of Eugene and Grace Kreft Rothenberger. In 1972 she graduated from Great Bend High School. On Nov. 28, 1975, she married Tommy Eugene Mitchell in Girard. He survives of the home. She worked in Information technology as payroll secretary, accounts receivable and compliance for the Topeka Foundry and Ironworks for the last 14 years. She also worked at the F.W. Houston Medical Center in Winchester as an accounting secretary for three years, and as secretary for Farm Bureau Insurance in Girard.
Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Blessed Hope Baptist Church for 17 years, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #26 in Girard.
Other survivors include one son, Joshua Mitchell, currently serving in the United States Navy in Chesapeake, Va.; her father, Eugene Rothenberger of Great Bend; one brother, Steven Rothenberger of Salina; and three sisters, Joyce Kuntzsch of Dorrance, Dana Allison of Great Bend, and Kerry Rothenberger of Hutchison. She was preceded in death by her mother; and a twin sister, Marla.
Celebration of life services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the Barnett Family Funeral Home in Oskaloosa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
