Margaret G. Damon, 96, of Great Bend, died Sept. 2 at Central Kansas Medical Center, Great Bend. She was born March 29, 1914, at Ponca City, Okla., the daughter Charles and Fern (Schultz) Hess. She married Ansel Martin "Bud" Damon on April 17, 1935, at Lyons. He died Dec. 26, 1993. She was a homemaker. She was a Great Bend resident since 1935, coming from Chase.

Mrs. Damon was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ and Edution Club, both of Great Bend.

Survivors include two sons, Donald Hess Damon and wife Kathleen, and Kenneth Ray DAmon and wife Trudy, all of Great Bend; a granddaughter, Karen DAmon, Great Bend; a stepgrandson, Jim Blackwell of Hoisington; five great-grandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Katharyne Eberhardt, and a granddaughter, Aimee Rupp.

A graveside funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend, with the Rev. Stan Crawford officiant. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are sugggested to a fund for First Congregational United Church of Christ, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
