Margaret Mary Heinz 1929-2015

Margaret Mary Heinz, 86, died Nov. 20, 2015, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born Jan. 11, 1929, at Dodge City, the daughter of Jake and Bertha (Andra) Heinz. Until her death, Margaret was dedicated to the care of her daughter with special needs. She was a beautician and homemaker. She had been a Great Bend resident since 2008, coming from Canon City, Colo.
Margaret was active with and a volunteer in the Catholic Church for most of her life.
Survivors include two sons, Emery Dalton of Pueblo, Colo., and Jimmy Mestas of Arizona; two daughters, Sharon Dalton of Canon City, Colo., and Rita Mestas of Great Bend; one sister, Shirley Heinz of Salida, Colo.; 11 grandchildren, including Michael and Michelle Boisse of Great Bend; and special family friends, niece Joyce Strecker her husband Dennis of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Boisse, a son, Alfie Dalton, and a brother, Robert Heinz.
Memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father Ted Stoecklein, officiant. Interment will be in Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery, Ellinwood. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Golden Belt Humane Society may be made in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
