NESS CITY — Marie Frances Erb, 86, passed away at Atrium Medical Center in Corinth, Texas,near her daughter’s home. Born on Nov. 14, 1926 in Toronto, she was the daughter of Curtis and Frances Reynard Williams, Sr. A graduate of Fort Hays State University, she was a school teacher, teaching in Woodson and Ness County schools. On June 1, 1950 she married Earl P. Erb in Fayetteville, Ark. He preceded her in death on Sept. 26, 2009.
Mrs. Erb was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Ness County Historical Society and the Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, all of Ness City.
Marie is survived by her son Eldon Erb (RoxAnne), of Broomfield, Colo.; three daughters, Marchia Ruth (Gene), of Excelsior Springs, Mo., Janice Goldsworthy (Mike), of Denton, Texas, and Anita Lynch, of Kempner, Texas; one brother, Curtis Williams, Jr. (Barbara), of Norman, Okla.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Christiana Maybee; and her sister, Gertrude Blevins.
Funeral services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Ness City at 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow at the Bazine Cemetery.
Friends may call today at Fitzgerald Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m., with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the “Local Classroom Grant Project” administered by Beta Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.
