GREAT BEND — Marie K. Zink, 91, died Oct. 25 at St. Luke’s, Kearney, Neb.
She was born May 10, 1923, at Ellis County, Kan., the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Armbruster) Claycamp. She married Francis Xavier Zink Nov. 1, 1969, at WaKeeney. He died Nov. 16, 2004.
She was involved in the restaurant business with her parents prior to moving to Great Bend. In Great Bend, she worked for Vi’s Yarn Nook and later opened Marie’s Yarn Nook, operating the shop until her retirement. She judged needlepoint at the Kansas State Fair for many years. She was a member of Golden Belt Community Concert Association, Great Bend.
Survivors include two brothers, Vernon Claycamp, Santa Maria, Calif., and Carrol Claycamp, College Station, Texas; a sister, Dorothy Eisenbarth, Chandler, Ariz.; a grandson, Paul Kroeger; two great-grandchildren, Luke Kroeger and Cassidy Kroeger; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ron Kroeger; and five brothers, Gerhardt Claycamp, Clarence Claycamp, Henry Claycamp, Harold Claycamp and Alfred Claycamp.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in WaKeeney with Pastor Jon Brudvig and Pastor Jon Anderson. Interment will be in the WaKeeney City Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend. Memorial donations are suggested to Golden Belt Community Concert Association Endowment at Golden Belt Community Foundation, or to St. Luke’s Home, Kearney, Neb., both in care of the funeral home.
