Marilyn Edwards, 93, passed away Oct. 19, 2023, at Medicalodges of Great Bend. She was born Feb. 14, 1930, in Great Bend to Lloyd and Elizabeth (Bell) Spruill. She married Virgil Standish then later married Richard M. Edwards Feb. 14, 1975, in Reno, Nev. Richard passed away Dec. 8, 2010. 

Marilyn, a long time Great Bend resident, was a member of Pi Phi at the University of Kansas, P.E.O, Great Bend Petroleum Club and several bridge clubs. Marilyn was a true friend who valued time spent with those who were dear to her.

Survivors include, two sons, Scott Standish (Tonie) of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. and Barton Standish (Marjorie Rosenman) of Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Coleman Standish (Staci Wendt) of Long Beach, Calif., Dylan Standish (Amy Walser) of Manhattan Beach, Calif. and Caitlin Standish of Portland, Ore.; and two great grandchildren, Vincent Standish and Zadie Standish. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Edwards; and a sister, Betty Theisen. 

A private family service will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials have been designated to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
