LARNED — Marion Burl Froetschner, 90, passed away Aug. 2, 2017. He was born Jan. 1, 1927, at the family farm house in Pawnee County, the seventh child of 12, the son of Roy William and Mary Ellen (Stauffer) Froetschner. A lifetime area resident, he was a farmer, dairyman, Dekalb seed dealer, and served on Sanford co-op board. Marion and his brother Roland formed a farming partnership that lasted 32 years until retirement. He married Helen Marie McCarty, Aug. 15, 1952 in Larned. She survives.
He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church.
Other survivors include, daughters, Rose Mary (Dick) Shelton, Betty Delaney (fiance, Brian Haberman), and Cheri (Darrin) Reinertsen; sons, Jim (Tammy) Froetschner and Gary (Brenda) Froetschner; grandchildren, Jon (Karren) Skelton, Traci (Bryce) Wachs, Chris (Jamie) Froetschner, Jami (Chris) Battin, Brad (Faith) Froetschner, Olen Froetschner, Lorelee (Brandon) Enabnit, Kristen (Jay) Muller, Sean Delaney; and 15 great-grandchildren, with another on the way; two brothers, Roland (Janice) Froetschner and Kyrle (Karen) Froetschner; two sisters, Donna (Norman) Christensen of Garden City, and Cordelia (Dick) Overfield, Omaha, Neb. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Roy Jr., Glenn, Robert, Donald, and Wayne; and two sisters, Marvel Field and Wilma Froetschner.
Cremation has taken place and there will be a graveside service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 4, at the Larned Cemetery, with Pastor Bill Stapleton presiding. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Larned United Methodist Church or donor’s choice in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
