Marion W. Sunley, 81, died Sept. 20 at Cherry Village Nursing Home, Great Bend. He was born Feb. 28, 1929, at Brownell, the son of Abraham Lincoln and Stella (Stull) Sunley. He married Joan Weber on Aug. 30, 1950, at Ness City. She died Sept. 1, 1987. He married Melba Helm on Oct. 15, 1988, at Great Bend, and she survives. He was a route salesman for Suburban Laundry, a carpenter for Marlette Homes and carrier for Star Route for U.S. Mail. He had been a Great Bend resident since 1954, coming from Brownell, and living 13 years in Kingston, Okla.

Mr. Sunley was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; son Ralph Sunley and his wife Diana of Great Bend; two stepsons, Mark Helm and wife Sheila, and Carl Helm and wife Connie, all of Great Bend; two stepdaughters, Claudia Arnold and husband Bruce of Salina, and Anne Butler and husband Brent of Centerview, Mo.; a sister, Carol Hearting of WaKeeney; a granddaughter, Alicia Easlon of Collinsville, Okla.; 12 step-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one stepdaughter, Lila Girton; four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Rev. William F. Johnson and Chuck Weber officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, with family receiving friends from 7-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
