Marjorie Eileen Kershner, 99, passed away April 7, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living, Great Bend. She was born March 17, 1922, in Alexander, Kan., to Rudolph and Laura (Mitchell) Kueffer. She married George Junior Kershner Dec. 7, 1941, at her parents’ home in Alexander. George passed away June 24, 2010. Marjorie was a graduate of Alexander High School and later graduated from the Wichita School of Cosmetology.

She was an active member of the King United Methodist Church, where she had been a member of the choir, a children’s Sunday school teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women. Marjorie enjoyed making crafts, quilts and gardening.

Survivors include her daughters, Jann Sherman and husband Dennis of Great Bend, and Susanne Price of Wichita; three grandchildren, Julia Davis of Wichita, Kan., Jill Sherman of Manhattan, Kan., and Todd Sherman and wife Emily of Olathe, Kan.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing by her husband, George; sisters, Delores Schwartzkopf and husband Carl, and Winnifred Rappa and husband Frank. 

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, with Pastor Morita Truman presiding. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery, Great Bend. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. Friday, April 9, with family receiving friends 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to Operation Christmas Child or Mercy Ships, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
