HOISINGTON — Marjorie L. Lang, 81, died Aug. 24 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita. She was born Aug. 8, 1929, at Hoisington, the daughter of Leo H. and Lucille (Hermreck) Pickert. She married Ernest V. Lang on April 22, 1952, at Hoisington. He died Nov. 10, 1983. She was a homemaker, worked at the Hoisington Phone Co. and was a retired secretary for Stueder Contractors in Great Bend.
Mrs. Lang was a lifetime resident of Barton County, and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and its Altar Society, both of Hoisington.
Survivors include one son, Michael Lang and his wife Carol of Great Bend; four daughters, Mary Liebl and her husband Ken of Wichita, and Kathy Krier and her husband Kirby, Nancy Liebl and her husband Kevin and Janet Hitschmann and her husband Ed, all of Claflin; three brothers, Don Pickert of Wichita, Jim Pickert of Emporia and Dave Pickert of Kansas City, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, Chad Liebl, Ryan Liebl, Kristin Liebl, Eric Liebl, Kari Nap, Kyle Krier, Kelli Krier, Mark Lang, Jeremy Liebl, Jared Liebl, Jamie Liebl, Jennifer Hitschmann and Emily Hitschmann; and five great-grandchildren, Lauren Liebl, Claire Liebl, Matthew Liebl, Olivia Liebl and Brady Liebl. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Duane Pickert and Melvin Pickert, and one sister, Wilma Gabbert.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hoisington, with Father Dwight Birket officiant. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a family/Altar Society Rosary at 7 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin. Memorial donations for the St. John Building Fund, the Holy Family Cemetery Fund or the donor’s choice may be made in care of the funeral home.
