Mark Anthony Depperschmidt 1957-2015

Mark Anthony Depperschmidt, 57, died Oct. 2, 2015, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita.  Born Oct. 14, 1957, at La Crosse, he was the son of Charles and Mary (Cordova) Depperschmidt.  
Mark married Debbie Dykstra on Nov. 26, 1997 at Great Bend, KS.  She died July 1, 2013.  A professional over-the-road truck driver, Mark had been a Great Bend resident since 1971, coming from Hoisington.  Tinkering and with an ability to fix anything, Mark was known for helping friends and family before himself, and always lending a hand.  Mark was an avid Kansas City Chief fan, and enjoyed spending time with his family.  
Survivors include his father, Charles Depperschmidt, La Crosse; mother Mary Depperschmidt, Great Bend; one son, Mark Depperschmidt II and his wife Shala, Goddard; two daughters, Jennifer Wendel (Lucas), Holcomb and Jewelia Depperschmidt, Great Bend; two step-daughters, Sara Ehler (Micah), Hoisington and Anne Givens (Robert) Stockton; four brothers: Charles D. Depperschmidt, Great Bend; Ricky Depperschmidt (Mary), La Crosse; James A. Depperschmidt (Brenda), serving in the U.S. Navy in San Diego, Calif.; Tyler Depperschmidt and his companion Jamie Hatfield, Great Bend; two sisteres, Judy Blankenship, Pratt, and Kelli Legleiter, La Crosse; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by sister Yvonne Waitt.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 11 a.m. at First Church of the Nazarene, Great Bend, with Pastor Josh Foster as officiant.  Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery North, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Memorials are suggested to the Jewelia Depperschmidt Education Fund or Euphoria Dance Center, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
