Larned — Marlene Betty Albert, 85, passed away November 12, 2020 at The University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas. She was born January 19, 1935 in Osborne County, Kansas; the daughter of Louie and Betty Boehner Tonne. A longtime area resident; she was the Secretary at the Pawnee County Health Dept., Larned.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Larned where she was a Deacon and served in many capacities. She was in the Christian Woman Fellowship where she volunteered in their thrift shop, was a Cub Scout Den Mother, served on the Election board, was an avid blood donor, she loved gardening, and was known for her wonderful cinnamon rolls and most of all enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
On August 17, 1952 she married John Henry Albert in Beloit, Kansas. He survives.
Other survivors include; two sons, John D. “J.D.” (Janet), Costa Rica, Duane G. (Deanna) Lee’s Summit, MO; two daughters, Cheryl M. (Kim) Beckwith and Melonie K. (Richard) Myers, both of Larned; a sister, Linda (Charley) Bowers, Beloit; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son; Loren Dale Albert.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary Chapel, Larned with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Service will be viewable via Facebook live at www.facebook.com/beckwithmortuary. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the mortuary with family present from 6-8 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned, Kansas.
