HOISINGTON — Martin Mayford “Marty” Myers, 71, died June 20, 2023, at his home in Hoisington. He was born Dec. 13, 1951 to Eldon Mayford and Dorothy Joy (Tullis) Myers. Marty graduated from Hoisington High School in 1971 and then proudly served his country in the Army as a SP4 from 1971 to 1974. 

A lifetime Hoisington resident, Marty worked in the oilfield for many years and then for GB Industries. He was a member of the Hoisington V.F.W. and the American Legion Post #286. Marty was an avid hunter and fisher, who never met a stranger and would always have a joke to share.

He is survived by his brother Leslie Myers of Great Bend; a sister, Dixie Myers of Hoisington; and nephew, Heath Myers, and great niece, Shadow Myers both of Hoisington.  

Friends may sign the book at the funeral home, there will be no viewing as cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Hoisington City Cemetery, with Ron Bailey presiding. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Army Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Martin Myers Memorial Fund, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
