ELLINWOOD — Mary Lee Koch, 66, died Sept. 25 at Promise Regional Hospital in Hutchinson. Born Dec. 11, 1943, in Claflin, she was the daughter of Frank and Clemantine Tyson Straub. On Feb. 29, 1972, she married Marvin Koch in Salina. A long-time resident of Ellinwood, formerly of Great Bend and Tulsa, Okla., she was a homemaker and waitress at J.C. Penny’s Coffee Shop, Fuller Brush, owner of Kookies Lounge in Great Bend and a waitress at Sheridan Lanes in Tulsa, Okla.

Mrs. Koch was active with the Disabled American Veterans and Diabetes Association.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a brother, Chuck Straub of Wichita; two sisters, Karen and Rick Rischer of Great bend and Nancy and Mike Martin of Pratt; a close friend, Carolyn Leigan of Great Bend; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ronnie and Conrad Straub; and a nephew, Frankie Ille.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Kimple Funeral Chapel with Father Charles Mazouch officiating. Burial will be at the Lakin-Commanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to Disabled American Veterans.
