Mary Rose Gerstenkorn, 99, died Nov. 1, 2015 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Great Bend. Born June 21, 1916, at Bison, she was the daughter of Joseph F. and Rose Mary (Krotz) Oborny.
She married Hubert Leo Gerstenkorn July 29, 1941 at Timken, Kansas.  He died July 7, 1996. She was a homemaker, as well as a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and Daughters of Isabella, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include: two sons: Marvin Gerstenkorn and his wife Suzanne of Sandwich, Mass., and David P. Gerstenkorn and wife Lynn of Liberal; two daughters: Joyce Winslow of Sun City, Calif., and Sally Bentley of Oak Park, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Irvin Gerstenkorn, and three sisters, Helen Oborny, Rosie Suchy and Elsie Vsetecka.
Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. and Vigil Service with Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at Bryant Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 6, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein celebrating. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 5, at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
