OTIS – Maxine (Richardson) Bitter, 85, died Jan. 7, 2013 at her residence in Otis.
She was born Oct. 24, 1927 at Hardy, Ark., the daughter of Marion and Charity (Brooks) Richardson.
She married Willis “Gene” Bitter Aug. 25, 1957 at Otis. She worked various jobs in Barton County throughout her life. She was an Otis resident since 1948, coming from Hardy, Ark. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis, and enjoyed collecting dolls and antiques.
Survivors include her husband, Willis “Gene” Bitter, of the home; two sons, Keith Davis and companion Linda Hughes, Otis; Kavin Bitter and wife Anne, Fort Mill, S.C.; a sister, Doris Kinsner, Great Bend; grandchildren, Caroline and Mackenzie Bitter, Fort Mill, S.C.; Curt Davis and wife Sandy, Hoisington; Bobbie Davis, Hoisington; six great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Larry Hackney Bitter, and three brothers and three sisters.
A Funeral Service is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Friday with Reverend Bruce Amadson officiating at Trinity Lutheran Church, Otis. Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., all at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Interment will be at the Otis Lutheran Cemetery.
