ELLINWOOD — Maytha Louise Selby Starns, 82, died July 10, 2012 at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood.
Born Oct. 20, 1929 in Alfalfa County, Okla. she was the daughter of William O. Selby Ann Stella Scarlett Selby.
A resident of Ellinwood since 1984, formerly of Hill City, she was an elementary and secondary teacher. On June 12, 1954, she married Thomas W. Starns in Brewster.
Mrs. Starns was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ellinwood, K.N.E.A. and Eastern Star.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas W. Starns, Ellinwood; two daughters, Sheryl Starns, Little Rock, Ark.; and Connie S. (Frank) Cortez, Ellinwood; two brothers, William C. Selby, Brewster; and James O. Selby, Council Grove; and three grandchildren, Erica, Frankie and Steven.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Struckhoff; and a brother, Bruce Selby.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Ellinwood with the Rev. Ryan Lynch officiating. Graveside services will be held at the Brewster Cemetery in care of Kersenbrock Funeral Chapel in Colby.
There will be no visitation. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church in Ellinwood.
