MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — Melvin Wilbert Lee Brack, 93, of Mountain Home, Ark. passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, in Mountain Home. He was born in Otis, Kan. on March 2, 1931, to Samuel and Elma (Dumbler) Brack. He married Anna Lee Moody on July 22, 1951, in Milberger, Kan.
Melvin worked in the Kansas oil fields for many years and also worked for three years in Alaska on one of the first oil wells ever built there. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of First Assembly of God in Mountain Home. He was former member of First Assembly of God in Great Bend, Kan. where he served as a deacon, worked with the Royal Rangers, was head greeter and bus driver captain. Melvin was a Promise Keeper and part of the Hospice of the Ozarks support group.
Prayers were sent up every morning during his devotion time with Anna. Melvin’s love for the Lord could always be seen through his kind, gentle, sweet spirit in all his relationships with others. He truly wanted others to know and love the Lord as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna Lee Moody Brack and one sister, Isabell Untereiner. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jo Ann Brack of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Michael’s children, David Brack (Lt. Col. Erin) of Norman, Okla. along with David’s children, Ayden and Ashlynn, Hannah Starnes (Brock) of Nashville, Tenn. and Hannah’s children, Olive, Sam and Vincent, Jessica Ruppert (Zac) of Louisville, Kent. and Jessica’s three children, Benjamin, Beckham and May and Rachel McKechnie (Cole) of Brentwood, Tenn. and Rachel’s daughter, Hunter; two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice Renee and Rev. Larry Thomas of Mountain Home, Ark. and Kimberly Dawn and Rev. Michael Lager of Cleveland, Ohio and Kimberly’s children, Madison Lager of Fort Smith, Ark. and Bentley Lager of Chicago, Ill.; one brother, LaVern Brack (Glenda) of Escondido, Calif. and many other family and friends.
Arrangements are by Conner Family Funeral Home & Cremation Center. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13, 2024, at First Assembly of God in Mountain Home from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024, at First Assembly with Rev.
