LARNED — Merle D. Wilson, 73, died on Nov. 19 at Promise Regional Medical Center, Hutchinson.
He was born Dec. 12, 1936, in La Crosse, to Everett Merle and Ruth Renner Wilson. A lifetime resident of Pawnee County, he was a retired farmer.
He belonged to the First United Methodist Church, Larned, the Audubon Society, and National Wildlife Federation. He served in the U.S. Army.
On July 25, 1981, he married Beverly Ann Smith at Larned. She survives.
Other survivors include one son, Sid Smith and wife Kathy, one daughter, Jennifer Wilson, Dallas, Texas, three sisters, Louise Unruh, Rozel, Darlene Smika, Fort Collins, Colo., and Reita Beth Burke, Rockport, Mo.; four grandchildren, Sam, Bradley, Tyler and Jessica Smith.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor Richard Langness presiding. Cremation will take place after the service. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. Inurnment will be in the Larned Cemetery, Larned.
