SALINA — Michael Joseph Zemanick, 79, died Friday, May 28, 2021, surrounded by his family. Born Aug. 12, 1941 in Edwardsville, Pa. to Joseph and Anna (Wilk) Zemanick. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Zemanick; daughter, Judy Zemanick; sister Elizabeth Dillon, and brother, William Zemanick.
He married his wife, Barbara, on July 1, 1961. Michael is survived by two sons, Mike Zemanick and wife, Brenda, of Inman, S.C., and Walter Zemanick and wife Regina, of Wichita; three daughters, Laurie Harwood, of Great Bend, Jennifer Callis and husband Casey, of Abilene, and Jodi Feist and husband Curtis, of Salina; 12 grandchildren (Justin, Rodney, Tyler, Kristen, Mason, Sierra, Matthew, Noah, Morgan, Lexie, Evan, and Mia); and seven great-grandchildren (Eugene, Zoey, Cooper, Hayden, Dawson, Crew and Sofia).
Michael worked the majority of his life as a Mechanical Engineer at the Fuller Brush Company in Great Bend, Kan. His hobbies consisted of fishing, hunting, camping, and spending as much time as possible with his kids and grandchildren. He enjoyed volunteering his time at Catholic Charities, USD 305’s Adult Education Center, and being a member of Knights of Columns #8196.
Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 3 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Salina. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 2 with family receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. and a vigil beginning at 7 p.m., all at Ryan Mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Knights of Columbus #8196 and may be left at or sent in care of Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth St., Salina.
