LARNED — Mildon Lee Yeager, 91, passed away Sept. 7, 2018 at Country Living of Larned Memory Care.
He was born April 9, 1927 in Larned, the son of Jesse Madison and Grace Viola Butts Yeager. A lifetime area resident, he was a contractor/carpenter. He worked and retired from the Fort Larned Historical Site for 25 years.
He served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Larned United Methodist Church, V.F.W., American Legion, The Shriners ISIS Chapter, Masonic Lodge, Santa Fe Trail Center, Wet and Dry Routes Chapter and Fort Larned Historical Society. He enjoyed bowling, discovering history of Larned, restoring old furniture and horse drawn wagons or anything he could get his hands on.
On July 4, 1950, he married Ida Kathryn Carlson in Larned.
Survivors include, son, Rick (Rose) Yeager, Great Bend; two daughters, Kathy Jadwin, Larned, Rebecca (Bob) Sharp, Lindsay, Texas; son-in-law, Allen Case, Clearwater; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ida Kathryn; daughter, Ida Lea Case; and three brothers, Arlen, Drexel and Lyndon Yeager.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2018 at Beckwith Mortuary, with Rev. Bethann Black presiding. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery following the service with military graveside rites.
