Muriel S. Machal 1924 - 2015

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Muriel S. Machal, 91, died April 25, at Cheyenne Mountain Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Born Jan. 13, 1924, in Kinsley, she was the daughter of Ray and Ida (Robbins) Stewart. On April 3, 1957, she married Joseph Anthony Machal in Great Bend, He died on Dec. 21, 1992. A resident of Colorado Springs, Colo. for seven years, coming from Great Bend, she was an insurance and financial planner for L.C. Harmon Agency.
Mrs. Machal was a member of the Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Altar Society and the American Legion Post 180, all of Great Bend.
Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Simpson and husband Mike of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one grandchild, Scott Simpson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four great-grandchildren, Jaiden Simpson, Kaelynn Simpson, Isaiah Simpson, Lilleyona Simpson. She was preceded in death by a brother, Forest Stewart; and by a sister, Thelma O’Neil.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Great Bend with Father (Louis) Trung Dinh Hoang officiating. Burial will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday at Bryant Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Prince of Peace Parish, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net
