Myra E. Carlisle Smith 1921-2011

HOISINGTON — Myra Ellen “Carlisle” Smith, 89, died March 19 at the Rush County Nursing Home, LaCrosse.
She was born May 5, 1921 at Coldwater, the daughter of Floyd Denman and Tacy Ellen (Beitler) Carlisle.
She married Ivan G. Smith March 15, 1943, at Hoisington. He died May 25, 2001.
Myra was a long-time Hoisington resident and a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Survivors include a son, Rodney Smith, Great Bend; a daughter, Janice Dyer of Hoisington; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tacy Smith, an infant daughter Karen Smith; two brothers, Elwood C. Carlisle, and Glen E. Carlisle; one sister, Elva Ruth Meadows; and a grandson, Grant Arthur Dyer.
A funeral service is scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 22 at the First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, with officiant The Reverend Kris Brinlee.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday, March 21 at the Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington; and 9:30 a.m. to service time Tuesday, March 22 at the church.
