Myrtle E. (DeLair) Krier 1927 - 2013


HOISINGTON — Myrtle E. (DeLair) Krier, 86, of Mt. Vernon, Mo., passed away on July 16, 2013 in her home.
Born on April 8, 1927 at Kiowa, Colo., she was the daughter of Roy and Edna (Watt) DeLair. On Nov. 21, 1951, she married Richard Krier and moved to Claflin where they farmed and raised cattle until they retired. They then moved to Hoisington. Richard passed away on June 3, 1985. In 2000, she moved to Mt. Vernon, Mo. to be closer to her daughter and family.
Mrs. Krier was a member of the St. John Evangelical Catholic Church in Hoisington, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Secretary and President of the Altar Society, and loved crocheting and reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Hoffman and husband, LeRoy; two grandchildren, Paul Bradshaw and his wife, Amanda, and Deborah Jerue and her husband, David; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Murr, Falcon, Colo.; a brother Roy DeLair, Jr., Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ross DeLair; and a sister, Mildred Worthy.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Claflin Cemetery with Father Anselm Eke as celebrant. Rosary will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association or Kans for Kids in care of the funeral home.
