Nada June Underwood 1929 - 2014

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Nada June Underwood, 84, of Springfield, Mo., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 3. Nada was born on June 23, 1929, to Russell and Clara Newlin in Codell. She married Robert (Bob) Underwood on Oct. 10, 1953. To this union two children were born, Kelley (Trudy) Underwood and Kris (Don) Carlson. Eventually grandchildren, Angela Carlson, Jessica Peters, Robbie Carlson and Robert Underwood were added to the family. Nada was also blessed to know three of her great-grandchildren.
Nada was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; her parents Clara and Russell; two brothers, Wilmer and Wayne; and two sisters, Hilda and Reba. She is survived by sisters Jean Painter of Pittsburg, Kathy Hudson of Reserve, N.M., Virginia Nuffer of Sun City, Ariz., 13 nieces and nephews; as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nada graduated from Friends Haviland Academy in Haviland, Kan. and Friends University in Wichita, Kan.  She worked in the Pensions and Benefits office for the Church of the Nazarene Headquarters in Kansas City, Mo. Nada enjoyed singing, traveling, quilting, and cooking, but what she enjoyed more than anything was spending time with friends and her family.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. on May 31, at One Life Church of the Nazarene, 3245 South Kansas Ave. in Springfield, Mo. Officiating ministers will be Dr. Larry White and the Rev. Don Carlson.
