Nadine Christiansen, 83, of Great Bend, died Dec. 12 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. She was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Barton County, the daughter of Virgil and Lucille (Newkirk) Amerine. She married Gerald J. Christiansen July 14, 1946, at Great Bend. A lifetime Great Bend resident, she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Christiansen was a member of the Christian faith, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved family, crossword puzzles, soap operas, country music and game shows.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; one son, Gary Christiansen and wife Judy of Great Bend; one daughter, Kathy Hansen and husband Mike of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Shawn Christiansen and Nick Christiansen and wife Candis, both of Great Bend, Todd Edmundson and wife Angie of Boulder, Colo., and Sage Edmundson and Jamie Hansen, both of Lincoln; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Wayne Amerine, and one sister, Betty Ballhorst.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bryant Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Wallace officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park, Great Bend. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
