Otillia Tillie M. Schmidt Peintner 1924 - 2012

ST. JOHN — Otillia “Tillie” M. Schmidt Peintner, 87, died Aug. 1 at Kenwood Plaza in St. John. Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Hays, she was the daughter of Joseph and Otillia Staab Schmidt. She was a former resident of Ellinwood, 1978-2009, and formerly of Stafford and Pawnee Rock. On Aug. 17, 1943, she married Donald Peintner at Spearville. He died May 16, 2005.
Mrs. Peintner was a recent member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and formerly a member of Ellinwood St. Joseph’s Parish, Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabella.
Survivors include three sons and five daughters: Mary Kay and Bob Queen of Manasquan, N.J., Thomas and Diane Peintner of Leavenworth, Donita and Craig Fisher of St. John, George and Melody Peintner of Duncan, Okla., Gemma and Robin Austin of Stafford, John Peintner of Wichita, Theresa and Brad Urban of Wichita, and Patricia and David Teichmann of Keller, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister Joann and her husband Bob Hough of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Gleason and Sister Mary Gemma ASC; and two brothers, Edward Schmidt and Robert V. Schmidt.
A rosary vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. today at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in St. John. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery in Windthorst. Visitation will be from 1-5 p.m. Friday at Minnis Chapel in St. John. Memorials may be sent to St. John the Apostle Catholic Church or St. Joseph Catholic School of Ellinwood, in care of the funeral home.
