Patricia L. Schutte 1924 - 2012

Patricia L. Schutte, 88, died Dec. 6 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born June 22, 1924, in Rush County, she was the daughter of Ernest Edwin and Olive Alma (Button) Honderick. On Sept. 6, 1945, she married James Howard Schutte in LaCrosse. He died on Nov. 6, 2004. A Great Bend resident since 1960, coming from LaCrosse, she was a home economics teacher at Harrison and Roosevelt Junior High Schools and Great Bend High School.
Mrs. Schutte was a member of the First United Methodist Church and EHU, both of Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, James E. Schutte and his wife Carolyn of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; one daughter, Elizabeth Neil and her husband Dr. Roy of Hays; one sister, Marilyn Grove of Palm Beach Garden, Fla.; four grandchildren, Christopher Schutte and his wife Maria of Hollywood, Calif., Chase Schutte of Excelsior Springs, Mo., D. J. Schutte of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Jason Walters and his wife Kerri of Fort Worth, Texas; three great-grandchildren, Natalie Walters of Fort Worth, Texas, Astraea Schutte and August Schutte, both of Hollywood, Calif., two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Farmer and her husband Robb of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dr. John Neil and his wife Shaheen of Scottsdale, Ariz.; four step-great-grandchildren, Sam Farmer of Fort Worth, Texas, Julia Neil, Jacob Neil and Sarah Neil, all of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one niece; and four nephews.
A private family inurnment will be held at the LaCrosse City Cemetery at a later date. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church, in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
