Patrick Rene Guesnier 1938 - 2021

Patrick Rene Guesnier, 82, passed away January 28, 2021, at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo. He was born March 4, 1938, in Seward, to Joseph Alexander & Vina Marie (Riekert) Guesnier. Patrick married Patricia (Petz) in 1961, and remained married for 29 years.

A long time Great Bend and Parsons resident, previously residing in Texas and Kentucky, Patrick moved to the Kansas City area in 2017.  He was a manufacturing foreman for Ruskin Manufacturing, retiring in 2000. Patrick was a previous member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #862.  Patrick was a veteran of the United States Navy. 

Survivors include, a son, Troy Guesnier and wife Stacy of Collinsville, Okla.; three daughters, Tarla Goodwin and husband Bruce of Wichita, Tammie Absher and husband Thomas of Kansas City, Mo., and Tricia Cutter and husband Jim of Fishers, Ind.; two brothers, Matthew Joseph “Joe” Guesnier and wife Della of Great Bend, and Father Rene Guesnier of Conception, Mo; nine grandchildren, Rhiannon Guesnier, Brett Guesnier, Katy Schiesser and husband Jeffrey, Ali Justice, Brandon Hoberecht and wife Kelsey, Thomas Bellman, Ashley Greaves, Lakin Greaves, and Jack Cutter; and four great grandchildren, Avren Schiesser, Alice Schiesser, Carson Fiatte and Elva Hoberecht. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Patrick Guesnier; three brothers, John Guesnier, Joseph W. Guesnier, and Robert D. Guesnier; and a sister, Norma Heinen. 

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2021, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends at 6:30 p.m., and rosary with vigil service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend. Interment will be in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Seward, Kan., with military honors conducted by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.  Masks and social distancing are recommended at all services.  Memorials have been designated to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
