LARNED — Paula Diane Wells, 74, passed away Jan. 24, 2017, at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood. Born June 7, 194,2 in Wichita, she was the daughter of Clarence W. and Winnifred M. Seglem Gallegher. A lifetime area resident she was a retired secretary at the Larned State Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, canning vegetables, western movies and eating ice cream, but especially loved watching Tyler and Trent play football and collecting grandchildren memorabilia.
Ms. Wells was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Larned.
Survivors include, a son, Martin Wells of Tulsa, Okla.; three daughters, Paula L. Hobson of Greenbrier, Tenn., Brenda D. (Darin) Bryant, of Great Bend, and Karen S. Blackburn of Wichita; 17 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a son from another mother, Michael Dawes of Great Bend. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Wells; two brothers, Ronald and Merle Gallagher; and two sisters, Sybil Dole and Beverly Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned with Pastor Don Paden presiding. Cremation will follow the service and no inurnment is planned at this time. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Beckwith Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Great Bend in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.beckwithmortuary.com.
