Peggy Joan Hoeme, 81, died July 9 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 11, 1931 at Pratt, she was the daughter of Walter and Rhoda (Parr) Oller.
On October 8, 1950, she married Donald F. Hoeme at Natrona, Kans. He died September 19, 1996.
Mrs. Hoeme was a Great Bend resident since 1968 coming from Denver, Colo. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She worked in quality control at Fuller Brush, and as a clerk for Boogaart’s Grocery.
Survivors include two daughters, Rhonda Gabel and her husband Gary and Ronelle DeLaurentis and her companion Todd Fredrick, both of Great Bend; as well as 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Rowan L. Hoeme; three daughters, Roxanne Lesnet, Rojean “Jeanie” Churchill and Rochelle “Shelly” Ridgeway; one brother; four sisters; and one great-granddaughter, Keri Taylair Zimmerman.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, July 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, officiated by Pastor Adam Wutka. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 11, and from 9:00 a.m. to service time, Thursday, July 12 at Bryant Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Barton County Relay for Life, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
