ELLINWOOD- Ramona L. Stukey, 91, passed away Oct. 20, 2020, at Woodhaven Care Center, Ellinwood. She was born on July 13, 1929, at Hoisington, to Ed and Catherine (Theisen) Seyfert. She married Morris E. Stukey April 18, 1948 at Hoisington, Kansas. He died March 14, 2008.
A lifetime Great Bend resident, Ramona was a paraprofessional for USD 428, having also worked at Dairy Queen and Coast to Coast. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery, camping, boating, and puzzles. She especially loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include, two sons, Morris L. Stukey and wife Joyce, and Larry Stukey and wife Linda, and a daughter, Brenda Petersilie and husband Dale, all of Great Bend; a brother, Harlen Seyfert of Glendale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris E. Stukey; a brother, Norbeith Seyfert; and a sister, Calista Stuart.
The family will greet friends from 6-7 p.m. Thursday evening. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 22, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home, with Altar Society rosary at 4 p.m. and Vigil service and rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 23, 2020, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Kans for Kids or Children’s Mercy Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
