RUSSELL — Randal Jack “Randy” Neal, 64, of Russell died March 23 at his home. Born March 7, 1949 in Lyons, he was the son of Jack B. and Wilda J. (Jean) Neal. He grew up in Chase, attended Chase High School and graduated from Elkhart High School. On May 21, 1983 he married Bonnie K. Garrett in Russell. He was employed in the oil patch as a truck driver for Koch Industries, which later was known as Plains Marketing LP, for over 45 years on the pipeline and many different management positions.
Survivors include his wife Bonnie of the home; five children, Brad Neal, Steve Neal, and Danielle Ewers, all of Russell, Luke Hoffman of Euless, Texas and Adam Neal of Las Vegas, Nev.; his mother, Wilda Neal of Valley Center; three sisters, Vickie Wilderson of Valley Center, Cindy Effertz of Great Bend, and Gail Bailey of Hoisington; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday at the Dorrance City Cemetery, with Ron Bailey officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday at Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. Cremation has preceded the services. A memorial has been established with Hospice of Hays in care of the funeral home.
