Rebecca Sue Dudrey

Rebecca Sue Dudrey, 83, passed away on May 6, 2022, at Specialty Select Hospital, Wichita, Kan. She was born on May 18, 1938, at Preston, Kan., to Floyd and Mary (Coburn) Leroux. Rebecca married Donald Lee Dudrey on Dec. 21, 1957, at Pratt, Kan. He died Nov. 4, 1997.

Moving to Great Bend from St. John since 1960, Rebecca resided in Great Bend for 62 years. She graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Music Education and worked as an elementary school music teacher and private piano teacher. Rebecca was a member of the Church of Christ, and after retiring became active in the Kiwanis Club, Pilot Club, League of Women Voters, Etudion, Gardening Club, Central Kansas Association of School Professionals, and Kansas Music Educators Association, holding board positions for each organization at one time.

Survivors include two sons, Byron (Marie) Dudrey of Erie, Colo. and Thadd Dudrey of Denver, Colo.; a daughter, Ayren (Mark) Huslig of Austin, Texas; five grandchildren, Conner, Karis, and Collin Dudrey, Ellie and Evan Huslig; and one great-grandchild, Penny Jaymes Dudrey. She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and a sister, Phyllis Spade.

Visitation will take place from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, with the family receiving guests from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral Service will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Christ with John Turner presiding. Preceding the funeral, a lunch will be provided by the church beginning at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in St. John, Kan. Memorials have been designated to Kiwanis Scholarship Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
