GREAT BEND — Reinhardt F. “Ron” Feil, 84, a longtime Great Bend resident, passed away at his home in Great Bend on Monday evening, June 15, 2015.
Ron was born on Nov. 20, 1930, at Olmitz, to Reinhardt and Rosie (Suchy) Feil. He graduated from Great Bend High School in 1949 and served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division from 1949 through 1952. Ron was united in marriage to Ruby Simpson on June 1, 1954, at Lyons. The couple lived in Riverside, Calif., where they owned and operated a Valu-Rite Pharmacy for 10 years, after which Ron worked as a deputy for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department at Riverside, Calif. for eight years. They moved back to their hometown of Great Bend in 1997.
Mr. Feil was a longtime member of First Assembly of God Church at Great Bend.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Feil, Great Bend; a son, Michael Feil, Great Bend; three daughters, Cheryl and her husband, Tom Blasque, Riverside, Calif.; Cynthia Rose Broyles, Great Bend; and Christina and her husband Marshall Davis, Corona, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Orland and Harold; and four sisters, Irene, Helen, Leola, and Rosemary.
According to his wishes, cremation has been chosen. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at the First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend, with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Great Bend City Cemetery, with military honors. Memorials may be designated to the First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend.
