SAPULPA, Okla. – Richard Joel Zamarripa, 57, died Jan. 14, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, Okla.
Born Dec. 14, 1955 in Great Bend, he was the son of Catarino and Felipa (Briones) Zamarripa. In 2003 he married Jannett Kuhlenschmidt in Tulsa, Okla. She died June 6, 2012. A resident of Sapulpa, Okla., he was a cook for Denny’s Restaurant and also did welding and leather work. Mr. Zamarripa was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include two sons, Christopher Zamarripa of Oklahoma and Jeremiah Zamarripa and his wife Katrina, Great Bend; a daughter, Tosha Perales and her husband Salvador, Great Bend; eight sisters, Carmen Skelly, Tulsa, Okla.; Mary Ingram and her husband R.C., Great Bend; Rose Sands and her husband Lonnie, Dodge City; Josie Morrison and her husband Dennis, Sand Springs, Okla.; Isabel Earegood and her husband Donnie, Great Bend; Angie Ingram, Great Bend; Rebecca Morrison and her husband Craig, Sr., Hutchinson; and Vivian Bahr and her husband Tom, Great Bend; two brothers, Paul Zamarripa and his wife Gina, Great Bend; and Steve Zamarripa and his wife Judy, Duncan, Okla.; a sister-in-law, Gloria Zamarripa; eight grandchildren, Mya Scholz, Damion Zamarripa, Jaycee Zamarripa, Daise Zamarripa, Skyler Zamarripa, Hannah Perales, Vanessa Perales, and Cristian Perales. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Pantaleon Zamarripa, Richard Zamarripa, Peter Zamarripa, and Frank Zamarripa; and a sister, Ramona Zamarripa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Bryant Funeral Home with the Reverend Dick Ogle officiating. Interment will be at Great Bend Cemetery North.
