Richard Morgan Edwards, 80, of Great Bend, died Dec. 8 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. He was born Oct. 30, 1930, at Spring City, Pa., the son of Morgan and Margaret Edwards. He married Marilyn Spruill Standish on Feb. 14, 1975, at Reno, Nev. A Great Bend resident since 1972, coming from Kentucky, he was an engineer for O’Neill Tank.

Mr. Edwards was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity, Penn State University. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two daughters, Krista Beth Fraga of Everett, Wash., and Rebecca Buechler of Imperial Beach, Calif.; two stepsons, Scott Standish and wife Toni of Great Bend, and Barton Standish of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Bryant Funeral Home in Great Bend, with the Rev. William F. Johnson officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Private family inurnment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials are suggested to the CKMC Foundation for the benefit of Heartland Cancer Center, or to the Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of the funeral home.
