TULSA, Okla. — Ricky Lee Fischer, 64, died June 17 at Cancer Treatment Center of America at Southwestern Regional Medical Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Born March 8, 1948, at Great Bend, he was the son of Edwin and Ruth (Krueger) Fischer.  He worked for North American Salt of Lyons and was a truck driver for C and P Electric, Branson, Snell, and Builders Transport.  
He married Karen Straub April 9, 1993, at Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Mr. Fischer was a long time Great Bend, Kansas area resident.  He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam era. He was baptized and confirmed at Peace Church, Hudson, and was a member of American Legion, Ellinwood.  He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying KU athletics, Washington Redskins, and Kansas City Royals.  He liked to waterski, jetski, and snow ski, and umpired many area softball games.  He will be remembered for his familiar, recognizable laugh.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Fischer, of the home; one son, Edwin Fischer and his wife Bobbi of Turon; one daughter, Jadina Crow and her husband Michael of Sedgwick; one step-son, Tracy Loesch and his companion Liz Cox of Lyons; one step-daughter, Jeri Aylward and her husband Mike of Hoisington; four sisters, Janice Rose of Great Bend, Janet Davis of Athens, Texas, Judy Fischer of Reno, Nev. Lila Drees and her husband Tony of Athens, Texas; and eight grandchildren, Zach Fischer, Gage Fischer, Caitlyn Fischer, Katherine Smalley, Zane Smalley, Gracie Aylward, M. J. Aylward, and Reece Aylward.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 21 at Peace Church, north of Hudson, with the Rev. Wade Russell officiating.  Inurnment will be at Peace Church Cemetery.  
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 20 at Bryant Funeral Home.  Memorials may be sent to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.  Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
