ODIN — Rita Klug, 73, passed away on Aug. 13, 2015, surrounded by her husband and family, at Almost Home in Great Bend. Born Feb. 3, 1942, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of John and Margaret (Boor) Schneweis. In 1960, she graduated from Odin High School. She later married James Klug on Nov. 18, 1961, in Beaver. She worked for Superior Essex for 30 years. Rita was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, who enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Mrs. Klug was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin and a member of the Altar Society.  
Survivors include her husband, James; three sons, Alan (Krista) Klug of Riley, Scott (Leslie) Klug of Hoisington, and Darren (Jamie) Klug of Newton; a daughter, Angie (Mitch) Gebhardt of Gypsum; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, Francis (Karen) Schneweis of Guymon, Okla., Gerald “Jack” (Sandy) Schneweis of Claflin, and Herman “Butch” (Toni) Schneweis of Hoisington; three sisters, Dorothy Maneth, Bernice (Paul) Huslig, and Mary (Lester) Stewart, all of Great Bend; and in-laws, Everett Hitschmann of Hoisington, Beatrice Schneweis of Hoisington and Jim Nimmo of Emmitt, Idaho. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leo Schneweis; brother-in-law, Robert Maneth; and sisters, Marge Hitschmann and Judy Nimmo.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 17, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin, celebrated by Father Don Bedore. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Cemetery Fund or Kans for Kids in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
