WICHITA — Robert Alan Jordan Sr., 85, died on Oct. 10, 2015, at Via Christi Villages in Wichita. Born near Claflin, he was the son of Elmer Charles and Georgia Martha (Houska) Jordan. He grew up in Gypsum and was a resident of Great Bend most of his life. On Sept. 3, 1949, he married Elda Jean (Clothier) Jordan in Wichita. He was employed by the Electric Company as storeroom keeper and then the director of purchasing.
Mr. Jordan was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita (Henry) McVay and Rhonda (Jack) Wilson, both of Wichita; a son, Rob Jordan of Salina; daughter-in-law Phyllis Medrano of Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Lois Nichols of Salina; a brother, Cliff Jordan of Great Bend; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elda Jean; his parents; son Randy Jordan; great-granddaughter Ali Beth Jolly; and sister Mae Louise Ecton.
Funeral services were held on Oct. 15 at the Great Bend Church of Christ. Memorials are suggested to Carpenter’s Place children’s home in care of the Baker Funeral Home, 6100 E. Central, Wichita, KS 67201.
