BROOKVILLE — Robert Dean Miller, 73, passed away Jan. 7, 2016. Born Oct. 30, 1942, in Boulder, Colo., he was the son of the Mary Treca (Phillips) Miller-Widener and Edwin V. Miller. On Jan. 1, 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Adella N. Benjamin in Smith Center. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic at Smoky Hill, LLC, in Salina until he retired.
Mr. Miller served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1964.
Survivors include a daughter, Tina Mills and husband Martin, of McCracken; two half brothers, Esben Widener Jr., of Phillipsburg, and Harold Widener, of Salina; a half sister Shirley Lewis, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Adella Miller; brother, Martin Miller; and sister, Patricia Miller.
