DEERFIELD — Robert (Bob) Lee Hughes, 76, of Deerfield, died Aug. 27 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Born Nov. 14, 1935 in Craig, Colo., he was the son of Lena E. (Barnhart) and Paul O. Hughes. In 1996, Robert and Thelma Hughes were united in marriage in Satanta.
Mr. Hughes served in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Hughes of Deerfield; three sons, Brett Hughes of Hoisington, Corey  Hughes of Fairfield, Texas, and James (Jim) Baker of Garden City; brother, Thomas Hughes of Great Bend; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his oldest brother Paul Hughes Jr.; and sister, Sally E. Milligan.
Services will be held at a later date.
